Incident Response (Manage Security Emergencies)

Manage Security Emergencies is a Security WSQ Diploma module that covers the knowledge and skills required to work with an emergency response team to manage various security emergency situations. The emergencies covered ranges from the business-as-usual type of incidents to situations where injuries, fatalities and authorities are involved. This module also covers knowledge and skills in executing an emergency response plan and providing assistance to emergency response team in handling post-emergency activities.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify roles and functions of emergency response team
  • Execute security emergency response plan
  • Manage minor security emergencies (business-as-usual)
  • Manage major security emergencies (involving authorities)
  • Assist emergency response team in handling post-emergency activities

For whom

Security Supervisors with Full Advance Certificate, Security Agency Managers, Security Operations Managers, Chief Security Officers, Security Executives

Entry Requirements (must have one of the following):

  • GCE N pass in English or equivalent (NTC 2, NITEC, SPM pass English); or
  • Attained WPLN Level 4 or equivalent; or
  • Attained Advanced Certificate in Security; or
  • At least 2 years working as a Security Supervisor

* Those who do not meet the entry requirements will be subjected to interview before acceptance.

Course Duration and Timings
23.5 training hours (3 days) 0900hrs to 1800hrs daily
Summative Assessment by POLWEL – 3 weeks after course date (1.5 hours)
Interview by POLWEL – 1 week after written assessment (1 hour)
*All learners must attain an assessment outcome of ‘Competent’ to complete the course.
