Guard and Patrol, Access Control Management (Provide Guard and Patrol Services and Operate Basic Security Equipment)

Provide Guard and Patrol Services and Operate Basic Security Equipment (PGPS&OBSE) course will impart the knowledge and skills for individuals to perform basic Security Officers’ duties at any assigned workplace. This is one of the mandatory Basic Licencing Unit (BLU) course required for individual to apply for Security Officer Licence with Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD).

Course Objectives
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Prepare for Security Officer duty
  • Perform Access Control duty at assigned premise in accordance with organisational procedures
  • Perform Static Guard duties at the Guard House in accordance with organisational procedures
  • Attend to telephone calls and perform follow-up actions in accordance with organisational procedures
  • Perform Patrolling Duties at assigned premise in accordance with organisational procedures

Entry Requirements

  • A Singaporean or Singapore PR of at least 18 years of age
  • Good Interpersonal Skills
  • At least secondary school education
  • Listen and Speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills WSQ (ES WSQ) Level 2
  • Read and Write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills WSQ (ES WSQ) Level 2
  • Manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills(ES WSQ) Level 2

*Those that do not meet the entry requirements will be subjected to interview before acceptance.

Course Duration and Timings:
24 training hours (3 days) 0900hrs to 1800hrs daily
Assessment by POLWEL – 4th day (2 hours)
*All learners must attain an assessment outcome of ‘Competent’ to complete the course.

With SSG Funding, ≥40 years old (For Singaporeans only) $163.80
